The Sherman M4A4 modification was developed in the early 40s, mostly intended for supply to Allied countries. 35 M4A4 Sherman tanks were acquired in China under the United States Military Assistance Program between 1943 and 1944, where they participated in conflicts in Burma as a part of the 1st Provisional Tank Group. In comparison to previous modifications, the M4A4 has a lengthened hull, because of the installation of a massive 370 h.p. 30 cylinder Chrysler A57 Multibank gasoline engine. The tank is armed with a 75 mm M3 gun, two 7.62 mm caliber Browning M1919A4 machine guns and one 12.7 mm caliber Browning M2HB AA machine gun.
