Aigle is a French Navy destroyer leader built under the 1927 program. In March 1940, she escorted the heavy cruiser Algérie and the battleship Bretagne from Toulon to Halifax, which were carrying gold to Canada. In June 1940 Aigle participated in the bombing of Genoa. Subsequently, she was disarmed and put into reserve. The maximum speed of this ship is 36 knots (66 km/h). Duguay-Trouin is a light cruiser of the French fleet from WWII. The Duguay-Trouin type ships are the first light cruisers from the French fleet, as well as the first cruisers in the world with the placement of the entire artillery of the main caliber in gun turrets according to a linear-extended scheme. She took part in the Dragoon operation in August 1944, where she provided fire support for the landing, and also in April 1945 participated in the shelling of German positions in the Genoa region. The maximum speed of the ship is 33 knots (61 km/h). Armed with eight 155 mm guns in four twin mounts, four 75 mm guns, twenty 20 mm Oerlikon cannons and six 40 mm Bofors guns.
